After the Assyrian king Sinshar Ishkun managed to escape to Nineveh, with the legendary fortune he had, he built city walls, fortresses, towers, etc and made the city defense much stronger than his lost city Assyria. The allied forces of Pulassar and Hoakhtar took the city under siege for months until food was exhausted and famine stroke. The Assyrian king committed suicide by throwing himself and his family into fire as a sacrifice to Gods which were believed to be angry. Soon Nineveh opened it's doors to allied forces and Hoakhtar left the city to Babylonians and returned home on 10 August 612.
As a revenge to all atrocity and misery caused by Assyrians, the Babylon king destroyed the city of Nineveh completely and it was never built again. For decades, Assyrians attacked neighborhoods and took men as slaves after destroying villages and cities.
Medes, Parthians and Persians were three divisions of Arians that chose different parts of Iran for residence. The Medes built Ecbatana as their capital and grew their realm gradually until Cyrus the Great gathered all Arians together and created the Achaemenid empire.
